Super King 180 x 200 cm 6ft x 6ft 6in

Helpful Tips — Which Size Is Right for You?

  • Small Single (2ft 6in): Ideal for young children or very compact rooms. A great space-saving option for box rooms.
  • Single (3ft): The classic choice for children and teenagers, or adults in a smaller room who sleep alone.
  • Small Double / 4ft (4ft x 6ft 3in): A brilliant option for adults who want more sleeping space but don't have room for a full double. Perfect for a guest room or a solo sleeper who likes to spread out.
  • Double (4ft 6in): The most popular size for couples in the UK — comfortable for two, and fits well in most standard bedrooms.
  • King (5ft): Great for couples who want extra width, or taller sleepers who benefit from the extra length (6ft 6in). A real upgrade in comfort.
  • Super King (6ft): The ultimate in luxury space for couples. If you have the room, you'll never look back.

Things to Consider When Choosing a Size

  • Room size: Allow at least 60cm of clearance around the bed for comfortable movement.
  • Sleeper height: Taller sleepers may benefit from a longer mattress (200cm).
  • Sharing: Couples generally sleep better on a King or Super King for more personal space.
  • Existing bed frame: Always measure your bed frame before purchasing a new mattress.

Understanding Mattress Height (Depth)

Mattress height — also referred to as depth or profile — is just as important as the width and length. It affects comfort, the look of your bed, and how well it works with your bed frame and bedding.

Common Mattress Height Categories

Profile Height Best For
Low Profile Up to 15 cm Bunk beds, cabin beds, or low-slung bed frames
Standard 16 – 25 cm Most bed frames; a good all-round choice
Deep 26 – 35 cm Divan bases; extra comfort and support layers
Extra Deep 36 cm+ Luxury mattresses with multiple comfort layers

Things to Consider with Mattress Height

  • Bed frame compatibility: Check the internal depth of your bed frame or divan base — a mattress that's too deep may sit too high or not fit properly.
  • Getting in and out of bed: A higher mattress can be easier for people with mobility issues, while a lower profile may suit children or those who prefer a closer-to-the-floor feel.
  • Bedding fit: Deeper mattresses require deep-fill fitted sheets (usually 30–40 cm). Always check the pocket depth before buying bedding.
  • Comfort layers: Generally, a deeper mattress means more layers of comfort fillings — which can mean a more luxurious feel, but it's not always the case. Focus on the materials and construction too.

Will It Fit Up the Stairs?

Getting a mattress upstairs is something we deal with every day, and we’re here to make it as straightforward as possible. Our team will carry your mattress upstairs and remove all packaging — so you don’t have to worry about a thing.

What You Need to Know

  • We carry it up for you: Our delivery team will bring your mattress upstairs and remove all packaging, leaving you with nothing to do.
  • We don’t bend mattresses: To protect the integrity of the mattress, we will not bend or fold them during delivery. This means staircase clearance is important — particularly the height clearance on any turns or landings.
  • Height clearance is key: Please check the height clearance on your staircase, especially around any bends or low ceilings. A mattress carried upright needs enough vertical space to manoeuvre safely.
  • If in doubt, we’ll come and have a look: We’d always rather visit and assess your staircase before delivery than risk any issues on the day. It’s no trouble at all.

Free Home Site Visit

Not sure if your mattress will make it upstairs? We offer a free site visit — one of our team will come to your home, check your staircase access, and give you honest advice before you commit to a purchase. We’d much rather come and have a look than leave you with any uncertainty.
